New addition to my art books collection

A couple of friends of mine wrote and illustrated a new book that just came out. One of them, most of you probably know him, it's Derek Hess of Rock & Roll poster fame, has also done Captain America, had his work put in both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Louvre in Paris. He and Kent Smith have published the book Please God Save Us, combining Art and Politics.

They have both myspace pages and their own websites. Add them, check out the sites, get an autographed limited edition.

Kent's Myspace and Derek's Myspace Please God Save Us

And if anyone is wondering, I do have both verbal and written permissions of both Derek and Kent to post their work.

Sorry I haven't posted any work lately, but I'm really slammed at work.

Just something to ponder over

US seeks intrusive copyright powers

Documents passed to Wikileaks have revealed the extent of an international copyright treaty being formulated by the US, EU, Canada, Japan and Australia.

The Proposed US ACTA multi-lateral intellectual property trade agreement (2007) could see customs officers checking media players for pirated material.

The Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) is not yet in force, but is aimed at cutting down on the distribution of unlicensed material.

Suggestions include tougher sentences for distributing material without making a profit, and using regular law enforcement officials to enforce the rights of intellectual property holders.

The proposed treaty would remove the current distinction under many national laws between people who profit from intellectual property theft and those who do not. This would mean that sites offering BitTorrent feeds, for example, could be prosecuted even if they do not profit from the material.
